How Owl got his feathers a story from puerto rico (by Martha Hamilton and Rich Weiss)
Long ago, the animals gave large parties and balls. Everyone was invited. They wore their finest outfits and had a great time dancing and feasting.
One day, the birds decided to have a grand ball. They wanted every bird to be there. They sent Hawk to knock on all the birds' doors to invite them.
When Hawk got to Owl's house and gave him the invitation, Owl was worried. You see, back then Owl didn't have feathers. Owl said, "All the other birds will be there in their finest feather suits. They'll make fun of me. I can't possibly go."
